It's definitely important to find that sweet spot where you're happy with what you're writing and your audience is happy with what you're writing, and that's why it's so important to get your blogging niche right.

I completely agree -- a "Great job!" is nice, but a thoughtful comment about a specific detail I mentioned is really interesting. And the very idea of recurring readers, I think, is that they're genuinely excited to read more of your content and is a step to building your community. And yes, the Australian book bloggers I've met are all lovely people :DAlyssa Carlierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10995554896786109238noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2981664243653036268.post-53138247080383460282015-03-11T02:05:41.495+08:002015-03-11T02:05:41.495+08:00Awesome post and really great tips Alyssa. I found that taking a wider interest in other book blogs has worked wonders for me. Actually reading their content / reviews and engaging with the blog author, rather just the random comment that so many others leave. I'd rather have one or two interactive comments than a whole hoard of one line remarks that clearly haven't bothered to read what I've wrote.

I'm more about quality rather than quantity. My stats are only impressive if you have the support and genuine readers to back that up. That's what I love about blogging, being a part of the Aussie book blogging community especially.
